New York

September 18th, 2009

Even on holiday I have my camera with me, especially this year when my wife and I went to New York. We were there on the anniversary of 9/11 and as a tribute to all of the lives lost at the twin towers two laser lights were beamed up into the sky which produced this incredible image.

Must have pictures

August 23rd, 2009

Although I do say please give me your list of must have pictures so that my assistant can make sure that they are all captured on the day, it is great to get some quality time with just the bride and groom.

This shot at Chatsworth House was made possible because just the bride, groom and me took ourselves off into the wonderful gardens of Chatsworth House for half an hour and made full use of the stunning scenery. So when you are planning your wedding day, make sure you leave plenty of time to get those all important images of just the two of you, after all whose day is it?

Never work with animals!

August 20th, 2009

Who was it that said never work with children or animals? Well children are a given at a wedding and never a problem to a photographer who for years photographed the MothercareĀ  catalogue, but cows! this was a first.

Tom and Katie who got married at Hassop Church and had their reception at Hassop Hall invited along two extra guests by way of an adjoining field. Oscar and Gemima two pedigree Longhorn cattle are no strangers to the cameras having won 2 third rosettes each at Leicestershire County Show. It put a whole new meaning on say cheese.

Civil Partnership

June 20th, 2009

June this year was the first time that I have had the opportunity of photographing a Civil Partnership and I couldn’t have wished for two nicer guys in Matt and Will to record their very special day. The ceremony took place at Eyam Hall with a fabulous marque reception in the grounds. The theme was very country, with bunting and masses of summer cottage flowers beautifully arranged by Darling Buds in Baslow. www.darling-buds.com

We go the extra mile

May 10th, 2009

Whilst it is not unusual to see me up in the belfry to get that ariel shot of the congregation, sometimes we just need to go that step further.

Some good examples are show below, me out in a boat at Ladybower reservoir was just what was needed to get the right angle of Helen in her wedding dress with the beautiful Derbyshire scenery behind her. And Gill my assistant was taken to a whole new level when we spotted that the helicopter that the groom arrived in had a spare seat on the way back to the reception. She got some great shots of the Church which look fantastic in the finished wedding book.KP0151
